Grant Proposal for 501(c)(3) Non-Profit
March, 2019
This document shows my ability to research foundations using the FDO and to draft, revise, and complete a well-written and effective proposal for grant funding. For this project, we were assigned a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit to work with in researching potential grant funders for one of their projects. We began by meeting with the non-profit and discussing their mission, goals, and objectives that need funding. After this we researched potential funders using the Foundation Directory Online. Comparing the mission and goals of these funders to our non-profit, we drafted a recommendations report highlighting the funders we believed to be the most viable and likely to fund the non-profits project.
Editing Example
December 2018
For this project, I was assigned the task of editing the instruction manual provided with the Portable Light Studio Product. The first step was to analyze and evaluate the original instructional manual, then hand copy-edit the print version of the document. Following this, I drafted a proposal memo for further edits to the original document. I committed the edits outlined in the copy-edit using Microsoft Word. Finally, I compiled the memo, copy-edit, and comprehensive edit into one document with a write-up detailing the objective of my edits.
Feasibility Report

This document highlights my ability to research, compare, and compile data and information into a well-written and thoroughly polished report. For this writing project, we researched the feasibility of CAPS partnering with local animal shelters in order to provide Animal Assisted Therapy to EWU students. Using databases we analyzed the state of college students mental health, and we researched the benefits of animal assisted therapy and the potential costs of providing the service. We contacted CAPS and proposed our idea, and we reached out to local shelters as well to discuss the project. After extensive research, drafting, and revisions, we produced a polished Feasibility Report outlining what would be needed to move the project forward into implementing our proposed idea.
ZOOM Manual
June 2018
For this project, we were required to create written instructions and video tutorials for a task. Our team decided to study ZOOM Video Conferencing software, a program available to EWU students for free. We developed these instructions in order to help anyone understand how to use this software, and our project displays skills needed for learning new software and developing clear and concise instructions for usage. We went through multiple revisions and edits before the project was completed. The final product shows my ability to learn a new software, to write instructions and usage guides, and to edit instructions for clarity and simplicity.
